How to become a MotoGP rider

The Categories

First of all, let's try to give a concrete idea of what motorcycling is all about.

The MotoGP is divided into Grand Prix that are held in different parts of the globe and which are divided into three categories based on the displacement.

Moto3, Moto2 and Motogp

MotoGP concerns vehicles up to 1000 cc and only and exclusively concerns the four-stroke engine. It is disputed starting from the period 2002-2006, up to 990 cm³, as regards the four-stroke engine and up to 500 cm³ for the two-stroke engine, from 2007 instead, up to 800 cm³ and from 2012 up to 1000 cm ³.

Moto2 started in 2010 and involves vehicles up to 600 cm³ with a four-stroke engine, which is supplied to the teams by the Honda brand.

Finally, the Moto3 has been disputed since 2012 by vehicles up to 250 cm³ with a single-cylinder four-stroke engine.

Where to start running

There are two ways. You can go to a school with qualified staff who will give you the right tips or you can prepare yourself.

Here are some of the schools in Italy and abroad where you can contact:

DRE Ducati Riding Experience - http://dre.ducati.it/

Yamaha Riding School Pedersoli - https://www.ridingschool.it/

If you plan to prepare yourself instead, let's start by saying that it takes a lot of training.

Recall that a MotoGP rider loses on average almost 4 liters of fluids per race, or that to outline a perfect curve, "throwing" a 160 kg motorcycle to the ground is subjected to stress equal to 1.7 G.

Also keep in mind a healthy and balanced diet I recommend you to rely on a nutritionist so he can advise you on the right diet for this sport.

How to train.

I am attaching here a guide on how to train alone and a video of experts explaining how the world of MotoGP works:
