Frame
For 2020 the frame has been modified in its stiffness and balance, designed to achieve maximum compatibility between rotation and stability. The twin-beam aluminum frame is immensely lightweight yet provides the ideal stiffness and strength characteristics needed to hold and deliver more than 180kW from the RC213V's engine to the rear tire. In addition to strength, the frame features just the right amount of flexibility carefully designed to improve tire grip.
Engine
HRC has adopted a 4 cylinder "V" engine with displacement of 1,000 for the RC213V that can harness maximum power while remaining tough enough for 19 races in a season. Each year, manufacturers can only use seven engines to cover the entire season - readability has become more important than ever. HRC has revised all the details of the new engine, making it lighter, more powerful and with rider-friendly characteristics .
Suspension
For 2020 the RC213V features front and rear Ohlins suspension. By providing the essential link between wheel and frame, the suspension's job is to keep the tire in contact with the ground and produce maximum grip as the car hits the thousands of bumps and ripples encountered with each turn. He is a crucial link in the performance chain and for this reason both Repsol Honda riders have a dedicated Ohlins technician assigned to him.
Car body
Lightweight carbon fiber bodywork plays an important role in making the RC213V as aerodynamic as possible. The 2020 RC213V has a modified fairing to achieve maximum performance by balancing acceleration, handling and braking through airflow management.
Tires
MotoGP tires are supplied exclusively by Michelin. Each round represents a new challenge for the tire supplier due to the track layout and circuit surface.
Brakes
The carbon fiber front brakes are supplied by Brembo. Wet conditions see some riders continue to use carbon brakes while others choose to use steel brake discs which can operate at a lower temperature. Yutaka supplies these steel brake discs for the RC213V.
